HISTORY : The vineyard has been established in the 17th century with the Château des Plassons. Before only located in the south of Charente the Vineyard has been considerably extented since the past 15 yers.
LOCATION : Pineau des Charentes - Cognac
SOIL : exceptional geological plateau of easily assimilated limestone

GROWING AREA IN COGNAC Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois and Bons Bois
VINEYARDS AREA : 200 hectares
AVERAGE AGE OF VINES : 30 years
VINIFICATION : Natural wine fermentation thanks to a high control of the temperatures all along the process
DISTILLATION : In the outbuildings of the castle, we lead the stills with a process of a double discontinu distillation in hundred-years-old Alambic charentais made of copper. All the aromas of the wine can release themselves.
BLEND : In the tranquility of the cellars, when the Cellar Master married cognac – grape juice, the pineau matures harmoniously. The subtlety, the delicacy of its aromas, bloom gently during these long years of aging in French oak barrels.
Colour : Deep gold, copper reflections by its great age
Nose : Oaky, vanilla, rancio, spices
Palate : Great maturity, perfect balance of flavours, nectar of incomparable richness
Pineau des Charentes Château des Plassons is enjoyed at a temperature of 8 to 10°, as an aperitif or as a digestive or as an accompaniment to melon, foie gras, goat cheese or chocolate cakes.
